Georgetown Nature Area Survey

Friends of the Nature Area (FONA) would like community input regarding future planning and use of the Georgetown Nature Area. The nature area encompasses the nature area, amphitheater, restrooms, and disk golf course. Future plans include potential revenue streams that will be used to maintain the nature area grounds and infrastructure. Possible future plans include the following: ·Make some nature area trails, driveways and the amphitheater ADA accessible ·Develop and promote the nature area as a destination for BOMUSD students to utilize for science, history, art, and sports. Grades TK through high school. ·Create and market the nature area as an educational/outdoor destination for other school districts. ·Create and market the nature area as a public recreation destination for nature viewing, birding, artistic endeavors (painting, photography) ·Develop and market the amphitheater and picnic area for private and commercial rental. Such as: weddings, family reunions, concerts, festivals, and disk golf.  Please select the link below to take the survey!

SBAC--Yearbooks--Spirit Gear and More

This week we begin State Testing with the 5th grade science test. Remember to send your students to school rested and ready to go.  Now that Georgetown is a  New Tech Network partner teachers are planning and designing projects for next year. Please help us plan by returning our annual “Are you returning questionnaire?” This form helps us plan purchases for each classroom project and presentation. To celebrate the NTN accomplishment and get ready for our jog-a-thon we have new Spirit Gear and yearbooks for sale in the office and every Friday afternoon in front of our school.  Check out our website and Facebook page for details!

Pets Prohibited on Campus- with one exception

This is reminder that we have limitations regarding animals, including pets on our campuses.  At Georgetown this includes pick up and drop off times.

Board Policy recognizes, “that animals can contribute to the district’s instructional program by being effective teaching aids to students and by assisting individuals with disabilities to access district programs and activities”.  Any animals, including family pets, are allowed for only these purposes and with administrative approval.  Thank you, in advance, for your assistance and cooperation.

Arrival and Departure -One Way! Safety First!

At Georgetown School Safety comes First! We have had many visitors on campus this summer and to ensure student safety at all times we are focusing on safe arrivals and departures.

Campus Opens at 8:00 a.m. !

1) If you are on campus during school hours we ask that you sign in at the office and take advantage of our Parent Room or front Gazebo.

2) We will be closing our back parking lots to drop off students. This includes kindergarten and Boys and Girls Club.

3) Parents are encouraged to park in the Office Parking Lot, sign in and walk their student to the playground or class at 8:15.

4) Students  walk on the "Playground Pathway" to play, attend class and travel to first breakfast and to return home.

5) The playground pathway is used during school hour arrival and departure. The parking lot path, back lots and office path are not open for arrival or departure use during school hours.
